Today’s Throwback Thursday starts with our first president, James Archibald Campbell. President Campbell started our university at 26 years old with just 16 students. Within the first term, Buies Creek Academy had increased to 92 students. Since then, there have only been 3 other presidents in history. Today’s president is Dr. Jerry Wallace, serving since 2003. Both Campbell and Wallace are ordained Baptist ministers and adhere to the principle of educating men and women for Christian service around the world in different ways.
Although, Campbell has grown and changed in the past 125 years, its presidents still try to make the university the best that it can be. So, here is a look back to our founding president and the current one.
