The Christmas parade at Campbell University was truly a festive spectacle that brought joy to everyone on campus. The lively atmosphere was heightened by the vibrant participation of the entire community, with parents eagerly lining the streets to catch a glimpse of their elementary school kids proudly walking in the parade. Those not in the parade enjoyed the opportunity to join family and friends on the sidelines, immersing themselves in the enchanting spectacle unfolding before their eyes.
The floats were a highlight of the event, each one adorned with sparkling lights and resonating with the sound of festive music. The air was filled with excitement as cheerful participants tossed handfuls of candy to the delighted onlookers. The appearance of clowns brought an extra dose of merriment, as they danced and interacted with the crowd, infusing the event with contagious energy.
I spoke to some parents who sat beside me and asked what made them come out today and they said “Our son goes to the elementary school and they have their float and our son is so excited to be in this parade”. Then I asked what this means to you as parents and they said “This means a lot to us to be able to watch our son smile from ear to ear as people clap and wave at him because he loves being the center of attention and being around his friends after school makes it an even better experience for him and us as well”.
As the parade progressed, the arrival of mini go-karts added a thrilling touch that had the little ones jumping with excitement. The nimble vehicles zipped through the streets, captivating the attention of both children and adults alike. The grand finale was, of course, the appearance of Santa Claus on the final float, bringing a magical conclusion to the parade. The children’s faces lit up with sheer delight as they witnessed the jolly old man in person, creating lasting memories that would undoubtedly carry them through the holiday season with boundless joy. The Christmas parade at Campbell University truly succeeded in uniting the community, spreading festive cheer, and creating a cherished annual tradition for all to enjoy.
