The festive atmosphere at the second annual Yule Log event at Campbell University continued to captivate attendees with its delightful holiday spirit. As the evening unfolded, laughter and warmth filled the air, creating lasting memories for all who participated. The joyous sounds of cheerful conversations and laughter echoed through the venue as friendships deepened and new connections were forged.
The Yule Log event also had a variety of Christmas music going. As the night continued, the aroma of freshly made S’Mores wafted through the air, enticing attendees to indulge in a sweet treat or two. Making S’Mores allowed students to unleash their inner pastry chef and create delicious treats for themselves and others to enjoy. This culinary experience satisfied sweet cravings and served as a delightful bonding activity for friends and fellow students.
The highlight of the second annual Yule Log event at Campbell University peaked with a heartwarming live reading of the beloved holiday classic, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” by Dr. Seuss. The gathering of students, wrapped in blankets and sipping on their hot chocolate, eagerly listened as a spirited faculty member brought the timeless tale to life.
The live reading created a nostalgic atmosphere, transporting everyone back to the days of elementary school when teachers would captivate young minds with the enchanting story of the Grinch and the Whos of Whoville. The familiarity of the narrative elicited smiles and shared glances among the students, as they fondly reminisced about their own childhood experiences with the whimsical characters and moral lessons woven into the narrative.
After discussing with other students about the event I was told by a young lady that she hopes this keeps happening every year. When I asked her why is that she said “This brings out a family feeling that I feel like I haven’t had in a while and I love this school so much for that because this joy will help me out through finals”. That showed how much good the CU community produces through their events.
