After Campbell’s strong showing on Tuesday evening, the Hump’s catcher, Grant Knipp is atop the NCAA leaderboard for home runs this season. Knipp a 6’2, 230LB Redshirt Junior from Louisville, Kentucky has had a dominant first half of the season for the Camels. Knipp currently leads the NCAA in home runs with 15 home runs over the course of 20 games. These 15 home runs already best Knipp’s previous career season high total of 13 home runs. Not only has Knipp been a force behind the plate, but has also shown his versatility in the field. Knipp has played in the infield at first and third base this season. Knipp has also been able to show off his arm strength by coming in as a relief pitcher for the Camels. Knipp’s versatility is catching the eye of MLB scouts. Look for Grant to build upon his dominant Big South First Team performance from last year and to continue having an exciting year.
