Student Spotlight: Nathan Clark, CU Spikeball president

By Mercer Farha

As you stroll through Academic Circle this spring, you may recognize a volleyball-like game played with a ball and circular net. That game is called Spikeball. Like many other college campuses, Spikeball has a large presence at Campbell. In fact, Spikeball is offered as both a club and intramural sport. I had a chance to speak with Club President, Nathan Clark, about how he joined Campbell’s team.

Question: How did you end up joining Campbell’s Club Spikeball team and how did you become president of the club?

Nathan Clark – “I came out, played a little bit, had a bunch of fun. So I decided to keep coming out. I was out here every Tuesday and Thursday just playing. The president last year was actually a senior so he asked me if I wanted to take over the club when he left and I said ‘Yeah’ and here we are.”

Nathan and many others have had the chance to represent Campbell nationally, including trips to Florida, Virginia, and Texas. However, here in the Creek, Spikeball has created a community that meets twice a week to enjoy friendly competition and nice weather.
