CU Men’s Rugby

The Men’s Rugby team has recently been established last semester and already making a name for themselves. Going into the spring semester, they joined the division II SoCon conference. They have played in multiple conference tournaments so far-the picture above was at UNCW conference tournament. A big accomplishment for CU Rugby has been winning games against teams that have been established for years. This team is mostly made up of first-year rugby players that have improved so much with hard work and have garnered much respect from teams that are even nationally ranked.

Featured in the picture above is senior leader, Teddy Eller. He joined the rugby team during the fall semester shortly after it was formed. The club president, Garrett Jefferson, stopped him in academic circle and invited him to come out and play rugby. After going to a couple of the practices, he began learning the game and really liked the sport. His primary positions are Fly-Half in 15’s, and pivot in 7’s.

A goal for CU Rugby is to continue to grow and improve and to be one of the top teams in the conference in just a couple years.
