Best Fall Photo Spots on Campus

Sophia Pineda

The leaves are changing, the air finally feels crisp, and Halloween weekend is almost here. Whether you’re snapping costume pics, updating your Instagram, or just want a cute fall photo before it gets cold, Campbell has plenty of picture perfect spots.

Here are our favorites.

1. Academic Circle

The heart of campus is beautiful any time of year, but fall gives it something extra. The trees, brick buildings, and open lawn make it an easy go-to for group photos. Go in the late afternoon when the light turns golden.

2. Butler Chapel

With its classic architecture and steps out front, Butler Chapel makes a timeless backdrop. It’s perfect for a more put-together look or a photo with friends that feels straight out of a yearbook.

3. Kivett Hall

Campbell’s oldest buildings have a charm you can’t fake. The historic details and brick make fall outfits pop, especially in warm tones like orange, brown, and cream.

4. Saylor Park

If you want lots of greenery and room to spread out, Saylor Park is the spot. It’s great for candid shots, a picnic blanket setup, or a fall photo dump.

5. Wiggins Memorial Library

Cozy sweater, a stack of books, and the library in the background? The ultimate “fall semester” aesthetic. Bonus: you can head inside to study when you’re done.

6. Cape Fear Shiner Park

Just off campus, this spot is a nice break from the usual backgrounds. Trees and trails make it feel like a real fall escape without leaving Buies Creek.

Tips for the Perfect Fall Photo

  • Chase golden hour. The hour before sunset gives you warm, soft light and fewer harsh shadows.
  • Wear fall colors. Orange, burgundy, mustard, and cream all look great against changing leaves.
  • Use the leaves. Toss a handful in the air or sit in a pile for a fun candid.
  • Go early on weekends. You’ll beat the crowds, especially Halloween weekend.

Show Us Your Shots!

Take your fall pics or Halloween costume photos at any of these spots and tag the Pine Burr for a chance to be featured on the blog and in the yearbook.

Happy fall, Camels!
